Hotel Housekeeper/Inspector

Wage & Job info: $19.00-21.00/hr + $2.00/hr when working Saturday and Sunday. This is a Part Time or Full-Time position. We are willing to provide training for the right candidate. The candidate will start as a Room Attendant and grow into an Inspector role once room attendant training is complete. Tuesday and Friday availability are required. Shifts are 9am-530pm.

The primary responsibility of the Inspector is to ensure that the guestrooms are cleaned and sanitized meeting the Oxford Collection of hotels standards of cleanliness; and ready for guest accommodations while complying with the Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards / security procedures. This position is responsible for inspecting the Housekeepers’ work on a daily basis ensuring guest rooms are ready for occupancy for the guests of the Oxford Suites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.

  • Guestroom Inspection (70%): This position inspects all rooms assigned to Housekeepers in his/her section of the hotel on a daily basis as they become available, informing Housekeepers of any deficiencies that need attention. Maintain inventory of guestroom and housekeeping supplies. Monitor Housekeepers progress throughout their shift, checking that Housekeeper carts are properly stocked (during and at the end of each shift), assisting with making beds, taking restaurant trays to the kitchen, vacuuming, distributing linen and terry, or other housekeeping duties to ensure daily production is met. Communicate ready rooms as soon as they become available. Return 5-in room coffeepots per day to the housekeeping office to be cleaned and replace them in the guestroom. Submit Maintenance reports / requests to the Maintenance Department. Assist the housekeeping management in the preparation of the standard of the week. Provide training to new employees and continuous, on-going training for all employees.

    Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.
  • Guest Relations (20%): Interact and acknowledge guests. Attend to guest complaints and requests regarding guestroom services and assure appropriate follow-up. Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests.
  • Other (10%): Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred

  • Reliable and consistent attendance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
