The Server is a key member of the food and beverage team, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and creating a memorable dining experience for guests. This position is responsible for taking guest orders, serving food and beverages, processing payments, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. Additionally, the Server upholds sanitation and cleanliness standards, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all guests. They always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with guests to ensure every aspect of their stay exceeds expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.
Food and Beverage Service (70%):
- Provide exceptional service by anticipating and responding to guests’ needs, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience in both restaurant and banquet settings
- Greet guests, offer menu recommendations, and answer inquiries about food, beverages, daily specials, and dietary accommodations
- Accurately take and input orders into the POS system, ensuring special requests, allergies, and dietary needs are properly communicated to the culinary team
- Retrieve and serve food and beverages promptly, verifying presentation, temperature, and portion accuracy before delivery
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal, proactively addressing concerns and fulfilling additional requests
- Assist in maintaining service stations, ensuring they are stocked with silverware, glassware, condiments, and necessary supplies for both restaurant and banquet service
- Support banquet events, assisting with setup, service, and breakdown to ensure smooth and efficient execution
- Follow sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety standards, keeping a well-organized and hygienic workspace while ensuring compliance with alcohol service policies
Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.
Guest Relations (20%):
- Warmly welcome guests, ensuring requests are handled promptly, professionally, and efficiently
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both guests and kitchen staff
- Actively listen, clarify concerns, and resolve issues to ensure guest satisfaction
- Assist with guest recovery efforts in the absence of a manager or supervisor
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity in all guest and team interactions
Other (10%):
- Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
- Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
- Obtain sales leads for the sales department
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
- Other Hotel related duties as assigned

PREFFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous food & beverage experience preferred
- Previous hospitality experience preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
- Reliable and consistent attendance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
- Must be able to list 30 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
- While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
- Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
